A Time of Thanks

This year, we traveled to Weslaco to spend the week of Thanksgiving with my family.  We had a great time seeing family, cruising around town, and eating all of my favorite meals.  Mom made my absolute favorite - "yellow fish" (red fish battered in yellow corn meal and fried) on our first night.  We even took Colin to his favorite places - Arturo's for some authentic Mexican food, and Mi Pueblo Bakery for fresh pastries and cookies sold by the pound!  We were stuffed the whole time we were there.

Since I do not make my way back home very often, I took advantage of taking pictures with my familia!

We have so much to be thankful for!!  What a blessing it was to see them all!

Fall at the Arboretum

This past Sunday, our small group decided to journey down to the Arboretum for lunch and photo ops after church.  A journey it was!  We stopped at the Corner Market for sandwiches, and then headed to the Arboretum.  Texas Instrument employees and contractors were given free admission (and up to 5 guests), so we all got in for free with Richard and Colin's badges.

We found a place on a grassy hill, and had ourselves a little picnic.

Then, we explored the beautiful grounds and the Chihuly exhibit, and found some great photo opportunities!  The Arboretum is definitely not lacking in that category!

We made our way to the pumpkin patch - and boy, were there a lot of pumpkins!

What a fun way to spend a beautiful fall afternoon!

Like Old Times

Our small group decided to go the Allen Eagles vs. Plano Senior High Wildcats football game.  First, we met at our new favorite wings place - Sauced.  It is owned by Aggies, which is a major plus, but it also serves DELICIOUS boneless wings with a variety of sauces.

Then, we made our way to THE stadium.  Once we found parking, we made our way into the nicest high school football stadium I have ever seen.

The band was all dressed in Halloween costumes.  My favorite was a guy dressed as a rubik's cube, but there were a lot of creative costumes.

The boys sat together and talked about boy things (and watched the game), while us girls reminisced over our own high school days.

The Eagles won - by a hair!  GOOO Allen!

Happy Halloween!

This year, Colin and I decided to hang out with our small group friends at the Gooding's house, and avoid the trick-or-treaters at our house.  We had piƱa ghoul-adas (thanks, Chase!) and hung out on their front lawn waiting for trick-or-treaters.
Chase was hilarious in his nerdy engineer attire!

The ladies all gathered to chat - as usual!

A trick-or-treater!  He hit the jackpot at this stop!

Chase, Denise, and Alice!

We may not have had a lot of kids stop by, but the weather was perfect and we had a great time visiting!
