Father's Day

This year, we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate this Father's Day with both of our Dads!  My parents came into town on Friday afternoon (after a LONG delay with their flight in San Antonio).  Ryan and Micah picked them up from the airport and brought the up to Allen.  We all went out to dinner at Matt's Rancho Martinez and enjoyed some delicious Mexican food.  Afterwards, Ryan and Micah came over to our house and we all hung out before heading to bed.

The next day, Mom and I "ran errands" (aka went shopping) while the boys and Micah went shooting.  We met up for lunch to recharge, and then Micah joined us for more "errands" and a mani!  We found just the place.  They even served margaritas while you get your nails done! 

After such a stressful day (ha!), we went back to the house to relax a bit before heading out to Rudy's for dinner.  It was great barbeque, but we still needed a little something extra.  So, we went by Yummilicious for some yogurt!

The next day, we all went to breakfast at IHOP before church.  Luckily, we got there before the crowds did.  We finished earlier than we expected, so we headed to church to visit some more away from the IHOP craze.

Colin and I were serving in Joyland that day with the 3-year-olds.  We asked them all if they knew what today was, and they all excitedly said, "IT'S FATHER'S DAY!"  We told them all to be extra sweet to their Daddy's and give them big hugs.  They all said they would.  (Hopefully, they remembered!) After church, we came home and changed clothes before taking Mom and Dad to the airport.

After that, we headed to the Hanks' house for Father's Day Dinner.  Glenda outdid herself (as usual) by grilling chicken and veggies, baking fish, and making beans.  Throw in some coleslaw, bread, and yummy desserts, and  you've got yourself a stuffed group.

We had a great Father's Day weekend, and were so blessed to get to see both our Dads!

My Brother's Wedding

My brother, Ryan, got married on June 2 in College Station.  He met Micah there, and that is where they would meet to see each other after Ryan moved back home and Micah went back to Waco.  They kept up their relationship even though it was long distance (which is no easy thing to do!).  He moved up to the Dallas area which shortened their commute considerably.  College Station has a special place in their hearts, so that is where they decided to get married. 

Their wedding rehearsal was at their favorite "date night" place - Cafe Capri in Bryan.  The food was delicious, but words cannot describe the desserts!

The next day, we hung out with Ryan.  He was not nervous at all!  We just had to make sure we did not accidentally bump into the bride!

We got to the venue and the boys all got dressed downstairs, while Micah and the girls stayed upstairs.  She told me I could come and see her before the ceremony, and boy I am glad I did!  I had to get my tears straightened out before all of the pictures started!  My mom said it best - "she is a DREAM!"

The ceremony was outside under a beautiful archway across a little pond.  (I did not get any pictures because I was in the front row and had video cameras and professional cameras everywhere!)  We lucked out with a nice breeze.  They kept the ceremony short and sweet, and it was on to celebrate!
